A pair of Black-capped Chickadees decided not only to check this bird house out but to nest and raise their young here.
This pair built their soft mossy nest and laid 6 eggs. Happy to say, all six eggs hatched and all six baby Chickadees successfully fledge the nest.
The adults continued to care, feed, and teach their young for over 2 weeks after the young left the nest.
Chickadees only nest one time each season and do not reuse the same nest site. They will return to the same territory next season to raise more young.
